Arnold Pujsza

Arnold Pujsza graduated from the Acting Department at the National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre (PWSFTviT) in Łódź in 1984. He was Jan Peszek’s student. He also considers Ewa Mirowska, late Michał Pawlicki and Bogusław Sochnacki to be his mentors. Before he started to work in Poznań he mastered acting skills in the theatres in Legnica, Gniezno, Bydgoszcz and Szczecin. For over 20 years he has played in almost 100 theatre productions. His most remarkable parts - Pancratius (The Un-Divine Comedy), Zhivago (Doctor Zhivago), Albin (Maidens’ Vows), Creon (Antigone), Toulon (Red Noses) and Sir Andrew Aguecheek (Twelfth Night) - have marked the course of his acting career. Since 2002 he has been working as an actor and artistic assistant in Poznań Musical Theatre, where he has played in over 20 productions. Since the same year he has been cooperating with Elżbieta Arsso–Cwalińska’s Experimental Opera Theatre where he has taken part in the performances Aknebungi, Vibrant Desire, Love and the Grass, The Total Luxury and Sexyfaces – all of them organized annually as a part of Poznań Malta Festival.
The last five years have been the most dynamic period of his professional life. On the occasion of 750th anniversary of the founding the city of Poznań, Pujsza together with Dorota Latour directed an outdoor performance Mars, Goats, Venera and Budget Scandal. He also directed independently the plays Caesarean Snip and Dominican Crib based on Jacek Kowalski′s writings.
