Grzegorz KawalecGrzegorz Kawalec – dancer and choreographer Kawalec began his artistic career in Wrocław Operetta Theatre in 1978 under the guidance of professor Klara Kmitto. He danced leading ballet parts in the classical operettas which have been the theatre’s repertoire. In 1989 he started to work in Musical Theatre in Poznań. He danced solo ballet parts in such performances as: My Fair Lady, Hello, Dolly, Me and my girl, Gigi, Zorba, Ball at the Savoy, the part of Prince in the ballet tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by B. Pawłowski, Cinderella by S. Prokofiev as well as the part of Prince Coqueluche in The Nutcracker.
Since the year 2000 he has held the position of ballet supervisor in Musical Theatre in Poznań. In the same year the Ministry of Culture awarded him with the medal of The Bicentenary of Polish Ballet for his artistic creativity. He cooperated with Opera Theatre in Warsaw conducted by professor Urszula Trawińska–Moroz.
He performed on theatre stages in Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and France. He is the author of numerous choreographies used in theatre concerts in Musical Theatre in Poznań as well as on other stages in Poland and Europe: Viennese Hits, Strauss Gala, Roses from the South by J. Strauss, Frygia and Spartacus’s adagio from Spartacus by A. Chaczaturian, Viennese Blood by J. Strauss, Emperor Waltz by J. Strauss, adagio from Cavalleria Rusticana by P. Mascagni, cancan from The Merry Widow by F. Lehar, Tango by Ross and Adler, Nessun Dorma from Turandot by G. Puccini, adagio from Pagliacci by R. Leoncavallo, adagio from Out of Africa by J. Barry, the ambassador waltz from Victoria and her Hussar by P. Abraham, can-can by J. Offenbach, Mein Herr from Cabaret by J. Kander, Beautiful Doll, Diamonds, New York, New York from Cabaret by J. Kander.
