Almost all of the arias and duets have become greatly popular. Each and everyone of us can hum . This show was firstly known as You are my Heart’s Delight The Yellow Jacket, but it was not successful and it got erased from the playbill. However, Franz Lehar did not wish to give up the music and decided to elaborate the operetta once again. Thanks to both librettists Ludwig Herzer and Fritz Lahner-Beda the undertaking gained some new dramatic expression. Thus, one of Franz Lehars most beautiful works The Land of Smiles - came to exist. The operettas plot is a great and true love which will never be fulfilled because of cultural differences.
